Offshore wind turbines optimization by particle swarm optimization (PSO)

The most addressed challenge in Economization of offshore wind turbine is high installation cost. The installation cost is mostly dependent on distance to coast and water depth. As it goes off the coast, the possibility of achieving higher velocity of wind grows up, but the installation cost increase as well. Therefore, adequate determination of the distance of coast and depth of water, could be addressed as an optimization problem. In this research in order to solve such a problem, the Particle swarm optimization algorithm has been employed. According to the results, the Particle swarm optimization algorithm optimize the depth of water and distance of coast with appropriate accuracy and high speed.
